National museum day!

Image
today was Día international de los museos. All the museums were free entry all day and you couldn’t be in a better place than Malaga for this. My favourite was the Museo Jorge Rando   He’s a neo expressionist Spanish sculptor and painter   I hadn’t heard of him before but I loved his work immediately. Highlight of the day - we spotted him in the basement hanging up new paintings!! At 81 years old. He’s a cutie that’s all I can say! I love this guy!

a grand day out!

last Saturday we went to beautiful Granada by bus. Nina and alba were our guides for the day and we soaked up the fabulous views from the hilltops. , Alba walked us up to Albaicín in sweltering heat but the views were worth it. I bought a watercolour painting by a local artist as his 75 year old mother was doing such a fabulous job promoting his work. Every artist could do with a mother like that!  B

Wandering home after work yesterday we came across this little gallery. Pack Aguilar is the owner and the artist. He produces beautiful copper plate etchings. He was so friendly and invited us to watch the process. There was a lovely Italian girl studying there for 3 months to learn the process. Interesting!

Today we are going to try and help her promote her lovely paintings and hand painted bags. Malaga is an amazing city we are so lucky to be here! Adios!!

The great BIFE bake off ✈️

[Sunday May 8] Hi my name is Luke Fitzgerald. I'm a baking, barista & pastry, student at Bray Institute of Further Education (BIFE), and I'm about to embark on my journey to Malaga as part of the erasmus + programme.  I'm going to be working with my classmate Maria in an amazing bakery called Candy's Repostería [Monday May 9] We arrived in Malaga at 3pm. Everyone was escorted to their accommodation by the erasmus + team and we were given some time to get ourselves organised and explore the city. [Tuesday 10 May] After an induction meeting in the morning we were escorted to our work placement. It's here that Maria and I met the owner of Candy's Repostería who's name is also Maria. After a tour of the workplace we were allowed to head back to the city where we would go on a guided walking tour followed by a meal at the marina  [Wednesday May 11] Day one of work experience. Myself and my classmate

I love Malagaaa x

Hey guys I'm Isobel, Im a Graphic Design student in Bife. I am so excited to be chosen to go on the erasmus trip in Malaga. I can't wait for the next 3 weeks, I hope I learn a lot about graphic design and experience lots of new things :)) We arrived to the airport at the check in desk in Dublin at 8;45am.  I was sooo exhausted but excited.  Everyone was definitely buzzing to get there and it was a great atmosphere. Once we went through security we went straight to the bar for a pint. I met my  new house mate K Lou for the first time and she was lovely.  I wasn't that nervous to share apartment with a stranger because we are similar ages and both girls who like similar things. I am buzzing to get to know her and everyone else that is on the trip. When we arrived to Malaga it was so warm! I was so happy to be there, Everyone was really excited and giddy. We got a bus to our accommodation and I was actually so surprised when we arrived because it was so nice. It exceeded my
